My questions have to do with the promised national healthcare system. This is a little too complex for one simple question.
In the present system we have preferred carriers and substandard carriers. Preferred carriers have better rates simply by avoiding adverse underwirting while the substandard companies have higher rates due to more liberal underwriting. Then of course some people are denied coverage because of health conditions. I am sure R13 understands this perfectly I just want to explain it to Spuds. With the uniform healthcare promised by The Chosen One how are rates going to be lower, given the fact that even the substandard companies will be assuming more risks?
What will happen to the people who are currently uninsurable? Will the insurance industry be FORCED to insure them even though the end result will be a loss of revenue?
Will the Tier system still be used to determine coverage classes? If so how many tiers?
What roll will actuaries play in the new system? Will there still be a need for them?
What will happen to the COBRA Law??
What will be the penelty for companies that just can't assume the added financial strain of healthcare?
Will the unemployed be covered? There could possibly be more people in that class. If so at who's expense?
